1 Introduction & Acceptance
Welcome to Talk N Tech ("we," "us," "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our appointment scheduling service and related communications, including SMS text messaging. By submitting an appointment request or interacting with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services. We encourage you to read these Terms carefully, especially the SMS Messaging section below.
2 Appointment Services
Talk N Tech offers technology consultation appointments where you can discuss device setup, filtering, internet safety, device purchases, family technology plans, and other tech-related topics.
How Appointments Work
- You submit an appointment request through our online form with your contact information and topic of interest.
- Our secretary will contact you to confirm a date and time for your appointment.
- Submitting a request does not guarantee a specific time slot. Appointments are confirmed only after our office contacts you.
Cancellations & No-Shows
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible so we can offer the time slot to someone else. Repeated no-shows without notice may limit future scheduling availability.
3 SMS Messaging Terms
This section describes in detail how Talk N Tech uses SMS text messaging, how you opt in, what messages you will receive, and how you can opt out at any time.
3.1 — How You Opt In
SMS appointment reminders are entirely optional. You are not required to consent to SMS messaging in order to book or attend an appointment. You opt in to receive SMS reminders by:
- Checking the "Yes, send me SMS appointment reminders" checkbox on the appointment request form on our website, or
- Providing verbal or written consent to our staff to receive SMS reminders.
Important: By opting in, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Talk N Tech at the phone number you provide. Your consent is not a condition of booking an appointment or receiving any service.
3.2 — Types of Messages You May Receive
If you opt in, you may receive the following types of SMS messages:
- Appointment confirmations — a text confirming your scheduled appointment date, time, and location.
- Appointment reminders — one or more reminder texts in the days or hours leading up to your appointment.
- Schedule changes — notifications if your appointment needs to be rescheduled or cancelled by our office.
- Follow-up messages — an occasional follow-up after your appointment if relevant.
We will never send you marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS. Our texts are strictly limited to appointment-related communications.
3.3 — Message Frequency & Costs
Message frequency varies depending on your appointment schedule. You may receive between 1 and 5 messages per appointment. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply. Talk N Tech does not charge any fee for SMS messages, but your carrier's rates still apply.

3.4 — How to Opt Out
You may opt out of SMS reminders at any time using any of the following methods:
- Reply STOP: Text the word
STOPto any message you receive from us. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further texts. - Online form: Visit our Opt-Out Request form and submit your name and phone number. Requests are processed within 1 business day.
- Contact us directly: Call or email our office (see Section 8) and ask to be removed from SMS reminders.
Opt-Out Keywords
You can reply with any of the following words to stop messages:
STOP UNSUBSCRIBE CANCEL END QUIT
All keywords are case-insensitive and will immediately stop messages.
After opting out: You will receive one final confirmation text stating that you have been unsubscribed. You will receive no further messages unless you opt back in.
3.5 — How to Opt Back In
If you previously opted out and wish to resume receiving SMS reminders, you may:
- Reply
STARTorUNSTOPto our number. - Check the SMS opt-in box the next time you book an appointment on our website.
- Contact our office and request to be re-added to SMS reminders.
3.6 — Getting Help
If you are experiencing issues with our SMS messages or have questions, you can reply HELP to any of our messages for assistance, or contact our office directly.
3.7 — SMS Data & Privacy
Your phone number and SMS opt-in status are used solely for the purpose of sending you appointment-related messages. We do not sell, share, rent, or trade your phone number or messaging data with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
Phone numbers collected for SMS are stored securely and are only accessible to Talk N Tech staff who manage appointment scheduling.
Carrier Disclaimer: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to your carrier's network availability and coverage area.
3.8 — Supported Carriers
Our SMS service supports all major US wireless carriers including but not limited to AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and their respective MVNOs and prepaid brands. Carrier support is subject to change. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
3.9 — Record of Consent
Talk N Tech maintains records of SMS opt-in consent including the date of consent, the phone number provided, the method of consent (online checkbox or verbal), and the date of any opt-out request. These records are kept in compliance with applicable telecommunications regulations and TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) guidelines.
4 Privacy & Data Use
When you submit an appointment request, we collect personal information including your name, phone number, email address (if provided), and details about your technology needs. This information is used exclusively to:
- Schedule and manage your appointment.
- Send you SMS reminders (if you opted in).
- Contact you regarding your appointment request.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is stored securely and accessed only by authorized Talk N Tech staff.
5 User Responsibilities
When using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful contact information.
- Notify us promptly if your phone number changes, especially if you have opted in to SMS reminders.
- Arrive on time for confirmed appointments or cancel with reasonable advance notice.
- Use our services for their intended purpose — technology consultation and support.
6 Limitation of Liability
Talk N Tech provides technology consultation on an informational basis. We are not responsible for any damages resulting from technology decisions made based on our consultations. Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in sending SMS messages due to carrier issues, network outages, device incompatibilities, or other factors beyond our control.
7 Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we make material changes to the SMS terms, we will make reasonable efforts to notify opted-in users via text message.
Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
